BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) program is run by Black Belt, Brett Evans. Our classes include both Gi and No-Gi and are suitable for all skill levels. We focus on giving you the tools to learn and improve your ground techniques both in and outside competitions.

What is Gi?

Practitioners wear a traditional uniform called the Gi (also known as a kimono). This outfit consists of a heavy cotton jacket, pants, and a belt that signifies rank. In Gi BJJ, you can grab your opponent's Gi to control and manipulate their movements. This opens up a variety of techniques like collar chokes, sleeve grips, and lapel-based submissions. Our Gi classes run on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm - 7 pm

What is No-Gi?

In No-Gi BJJ, practitioners wear a rash guard and shorts and cannot grab the clothes giving you less control,  making it feel faster and more dynamic as there’s less friction and fewer grips to slow down the action. Our No-Gi classes are on Mondays and Fridays at 5:30 pm & Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6am - 7am
